Get the CSV upload template for a payout currency

GET
/api/v1/payment-batches/template
curl --request GET \
--url 'https://api.elephants.inc/api/v1/payment-batches/template?payout_currency=example' \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer <token>'

Returns the CSV upload template for a payout currency: the column list with each column’s level (required, optional, unused), the bank countries that require or accept it (required_for, optional_for), its value format and a one-sentence hint, plus the header row as csv. The same columns serve every fiat currency; only the levels and countries change.

payout_currency
required
string
<= 16 characters

The currency the batch pays out, e.g. “THB”

The template

Media typeapplication/json
PaymentBatchTemplate
object
columns
required

The sheet’s columns in order

Array<object>
object
column
required

The upload column key, as rows[].upload reports it

string
format
required

What a value looks like, e.g. “6 digits”; null when the column has no format of its own

string | null
header
required

The column’s name. In csv it carries the level for this currency: * when every bank country requires it, the countries when a few do (Sort code (GB)); import ignores the marker

string
hint
required

One sentence for the person filling the sheet: which banks ask for the column, then its format

string
level
required

For this currency: required on every bank country it pays to, optional on some, unused on none (leave it blank)

string
Allowed values: required optional unused
optional_for
required

Bank countries (alpha-2) whose banks accept this column without requiring it

Array<string>
required_for
required

Bank countries (alpha-2) whose banks require this column

Array<string>
csv
required

The sheet itself: the header row, ready to save, each column marked with its level for this currency

string

Error

Error response. error.type is the machine-readable code — branch on it, never on error.message or the HTTP status. error.message is display-grade prose safe to render to a user; when a failure has no specific copy it falls back to a generic sentence, so it never carries a machine code. Unrecognised failures collapse to the generic unprocessable_entity code, so treat type as an open enum: match the codes you handle and fall through to a default branch for the rest.
